We are very saddened to report the loss of Larry
"Drums" Brancaccio.

He will truly be missed.
 
MAYHEM IN CORDOVA, ILLINOIS
Drums was in an accident. He ran off the end of the drag strip during
the second round of Nitro Harley qualifying Friday night, May 29,
2015 at the Nitro Jam Summer Nationals at Cordova International
Raceway in Illinois.
UPDATES
March 9
Took a ride on his road bike. Getting stronger
PRESENT DAY
Still in Therapy. Range of motion is improving.
October
Needed another surgery on foot. Doing well.
September
Still in therapy. Able to walk slowly.
August 17
All casts are finally off. Still can't walk for at least 3
more weeks. More physical therapy is needed.

couple weeks back at the IHRA
Cordova race when his nitro
Harley ran off the end of the track
at a terrific rate of speed and left
him literally broken.

Mend

The good news is in:  As of today,
Friday June 5th, 2015, 57 year old
Larry “Drums” Brancaccio, of
Nutley, NJ is on the mend and is
out of the Intensive Care Unit at
University of Iowa Medical Center.  
In fact on Thursday, June 04, 2015,
Larry was wheeled outside briefly
for some fresh air.  Larry is not
ready to throw his leg back over a
fuel bike again anytime soon, but
he’s improving daily.

Surgery Successful Following
High Speed Crash

Nitro Harley dragike legend Larry
“Drums” Brancaccio, 57, of Nutley,
N.J. underwent successful surgery
to repair fractures sustained
during a high speed crash May
29th at the IHRA Nitro Jam at
Cordova International Raceway, in
Cordova, Ill.  After an impressive
run of 6.37 at 214 mph in the
second round of qualifying,
Brancaccio was unable to stop
and crashed into Cordova’s pea-
gravel, sandtrap-like suppression
area.
